π‘ Note: Bulk uploads are only available on The Standard Plan
Our site importer allows you to create multiple sites using a CSV list of locations to save time when uploading your sites to Trail. Find out more about creating and managing sites here.

How do I use the CSV Template?
The template can be downloaded by clicking the Import button and selecting to download the CSV file.
Once you have opened the file, you can start adding the following:
Site name - This will be what your site is called in Trail
Live Date - This will be the date that your team will be using Trail to complete tasks. There's more information on Live Dates here.
External ID - If your company uses a unique identifier for your site, for example, a Business Unit Number - this can be added here
Address - The street address of your site
City - The city the site is in
Postcode - The postcode or zip code
Please do not add additional fields to the CSV template, as these will cause the import to fail.
π‘Note: Sites that already exist will be skipped during the upload process.
How do I bulk upload my sites?
Head to your 'Site Settings' page
Select the 'Import' button & download the CSV template
Add your sites to the template & save them
π‘Note: Live Dates, Internal IDs & Addresses are optional fields
Choose the 'Browse' button on your Site Settings page and upload your edited CSV file
Once this is uploaded, you should receive an email to the email you use for your Trail login
This email will let you know how many sites have been successfully added to your organization
Here is what the email will look like:
Why have my sites failed to upload?
The format of the file uploaded must be saved as a CSV (Comma Separated Values)
The uploaded date format for the live dates must be YYYY-MM-DD
The CSV will skip sites which already exist with the same name, these sites will be listed in the email you receive.
There is a limit of 5000 sites per upload.

How do I know which sites have failed to upload?
You will receive an email once your upload has been completed letting you know how many sites were successfully created, how many failed and if any duplicates were skipped.
If any sites have been failed or skipped, the names of these sites will be listed in the email sent to the email address you use to log in to Trail.
I haven't received my email and I can't see my sites - what should I do?
This process can take a few minutes depending on the size of the upload.
