The comments box is a useful tool for you to show what action you have taken when something went wrong.  This could be:

  1. A corrective action e.g. ‘fridge 2 broken down, engineer called and high risk food moved to working fridge’; or

  2. You were unable to complete a check e.g. ‘maintenance being undertaken and could not read the fridge temperature, will record when work completed’.

An EHO will want to see the comments box being used as it helps to demonstrate compliance and reassure them that corrective action is consistently taken when something goes wrong.
